Artistically and stylistically influenced by the following painters; Giorgio de Chirico, Henri Matisse, Umberto Boccioni, Tsuguharu Foujita and Hieronymus Bosch

Education - Académie des Beaux-Arts in Brussels, he left before graduating.

Cause of Death- Magritte was 69 when he died after a long battle with cancer on August 15, 1967

René François-Ghislain Magritte was born on November 21,1898
in Lessines, Belgium

On March 12. 1912, the Magritte family is in chaos when the bloated, waterlogged body of the once beautiful Adeline Magritte (Rene Magritte's mother ) is fished out of the river Sambre. Adeline Magritte threw herself into the frigid waters.
